Arik Bjorn | Author – Actor – Advocate
BIO
Arik Bjorn is a New York-based author, actor and former congressional candidate whose journey spans politics, literature and being crapped upon by pigeons in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. (Ask him about his search for a towel right after on the Via Dolorosa.) Arik is also a librarian and former rare book seller, and his 2016 campaign was the closest federal race in modern U.S. history. Sometimes, “close” does count.
Today, Arik channels decades of survival — living with Autism, PTSD and Long COVID — into his books and acting career. His work blends dark humor, existential grit and fierce humanity, creating art that speaks to the wounded and the resilient alike. Every morning, he looks in the mirror and channels the spirit (not spirits) of Charles Bukowski.
His upcoming memoir Bronx Nights (June 2025) chronicles a brutal year of survival in New York City: battling Long COVID, heartbreak and Manhattan monsters against a gravelly Bronx backdrop. It is a raw literary journey into identity, redemption and duality.
Arik’s previous book, Uber Nights, captured his hilarious, heartbreaking late-night rideshare rollercoaster experiences in the Deep South, showcasing observational wit and compassion for humanity — and even banana spiders. Also, please pardon the naked ladies and crowing cocks in the backseat.
Across nine additional titles — from The R-rated Theologian to Waiting for Civilization — Arik explores the absurdities and tragedies of modern life, spirituality and survival, with the help of friends like Albert Schweitzer and snow leopards.
He is also a professional actor, appearing in independent film, commercials and stage productions, with over 20 credits spanning screen and live theater. Arik’s favorite roles include Macduff in the Scottish play and recently facing the gavel of Judge Faith.
He’s innocent, I say!
